Safety and Training Leader

Job Overview
MV Transportation is seeking an experienced professional to lead our safety and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management and be able to develop and implement effective training programs to ensure that our drivers and staff are equipped to handle any situation.
About the Role
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with corporate and local teams to ensure consistency in safety and training practices across all locations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members on safety best practices and procedures.
- Analyze trends and data to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend changes to management.
- Work closely with claims staff to ensure prompt and effective handling of liability and workers' compensation claims.
- Proactively manage employee injury claims to minimize lost time and light duty claims.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years leading transit operation services for State, Municipal, Federal and/or commercial clients for a microtransit service.
- Experience working in transit, preferably urban public.
- Previous passenger transportation in current project or similar environment preferred.
- College Degree or five (5) + years of safety management experience.
- Prefer CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Designation. Certifications according to local contract requirements.
- Knowledge of all applicable safety rules, regulations - FTA, FMCSA, and DOT.
- Knowledge of regulations and corporate safety programs and policies.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments.
- Ability to work independently and objectively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,018-$102,000 and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
