Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the healthcare team in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare team members.
  • Perform clerical and clinical duties as directed by the provider, leader, and/or RN.
  • Prepare and assemble medical record applications, organize healthcare data, and promote preventative care.
  • Schedule testing for patients, provide patient education, and ensure completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Understand and perform functions related to computer programs, telecommunications equipment, and other required technology.
  • Maintain a neat appearance of work areas, patient care areas, and waiting areas.
  • Provide superior customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
  • Proactively identify and resolve patient concerns, referring to appropriate parties as needed.
  • Assist with preparing charts for patient visits, distributing diagnostic reports, and collecting focused data.
  • Perform and maintain competency for all point-of-care clinical testing required for the department.
  • Provide education materials to patients, prepare and administer medication as directed, and display competency for the Medical Assistant role.
  • Provide backup support for Patient Service Representatives and serve as a patient advocate.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Certificate, Diploma, or Associate's Degree from an accredited program.
  • Minimum months of experience as a Medical Assistant, with FHN externship or apprenticeship counting as work experience.
  • Certified as CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or eligible for certification, with certification obtained within 6 months from date of MA program completion.
  • BLS Certification.
