About the Role

Spearfish Canyon Lodge is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Crew Member to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities are well-maintained, safe, and secure for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular equipment, furniture, fixture, building, and room preventative maintenance as outlined in our Preventative Maintenance Manual.
  • Work Order Requests: Complete work order requests in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to our guests.
  • Maintenance Emergencies: Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, including repairing malfunctions in air conditioning, heating, electrical systems, plumbing, ice machines, water heaters, laundry, restaurant, and hot tub equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, serial numbers, and inventory, as required by local authorities.
  • Security and Safety: Provide security for guests and property by following key procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area, reporting suspicious activity, and adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Communication: Maintain radio communication at all times and respond promptly and courteously to employee requests.
  • Exterior Maintenance: Perform exterior maintenance tasks, including trash pick-up, sidewalk cleaning, weed control, lawn care, and plant maintenance.
  • Guest Safety: Ensure guest safety and comfort by responding quickly to maintenance issues and dealing with guests in a courteous manner.
  • Hot Tub Maintenance: Maintain regulated hot tub hours and ensure the hot tub area is clean and well-maintained.
  • Gas Records and Inventory: Keep accurate gas records, inventory, and maintain an adequate supply on hand.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other responsibilities as outlined in the Groundskeeper job description, including identifying and scheduling maintenance requirements for all exterior and interior areas of the hotel.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work performed meets state, federal, and local regulations and is of high quality.
  • Snowmobile Fleet Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the snowmobile fleet, including sled records, parts, repairs, and inventory.
  • Snowmobile Center Operations: Assist in running the snowmobile center under the direction of the snowmobile supervisor.
  • Snow Removal: Perform snow removal as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from $15-$18 per hour, with opportunities for raises, bonuses, paid vacation, and other benefits. New employees will receive a sign-on bonus of up to $500 after six months of continuous employment.
