Reports To: Branch Manager (directly) and VP of Sales (indirectly)
Role Summary: The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for collaborating with clients to facilitate an efficient sales process. This includes marketing products to businesses, contractors, and individual consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with external sales teams to enhance relationships and guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Manage incoming calls and emails from current and prospective clients to identify sales opportunities for products and services.
- Coordinate with external sales, suppliers, and clients to provide accurate quotes for materials.
- Process sales orders while liaising with the warehouse, other branches, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Estimate delivery timelines based on knowledge of the company's logistics schedule.
- Address customer order issues and complaints in a timely manner.
- Communicate industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer insights to external sales and management.
- Enhance personal and customer knowledge of products and services through vendor training, demonstrations, and peer learning.
- Address technical and business objections raised by customers.
- Recommend additions to inventory based on customer feedback and vendor presentations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution.
- One to two years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and inventory management software; familiarity with Epicor Eclipse is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and organizational capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills with vendors, clients, management, colleagues, and subordinates.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, drive, and enthusiasm.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally.
- May frequently lift and/or move materials within the warehouse.
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and varying weather.
