Job Overview

Position Title: Sales Support Specialist

Reports To: Branch Manager (directly) and VP of Sales (indirectly)

Role Summary: The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for collaborating with clients to facilitate an efficient sales process. This includes marketing products to businesses, contractors, and individual consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external sales teams to enhance relationships and guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Manage incoming calls and emails from current and prospective clients to identify sales opportunities for products and services.
  • Coordinate with external sales, suppliers, and clients to provide accurate quotes for materials.
  • Process sales orders while liaising with the warehouse, other branches, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Estimate delivery timelines based on knowledge of the company's logistics schedule.
  • Address customer order issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Communicate industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer insights to external sales and management.
  • Enhance personal and customer knowledge of products and services through vendor training, demonstrations, and peer learning.
  • Address technical and business objections raised by customers.
  • Recommend additions to inventory based on customer feedback and vendor presentations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution.
  • One to two years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and inventory management software; familiarity with Epicor Eclipse is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and organizational capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills with vendors, clients, management, colleagues, and subordinates.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, drive, and enthusiasm.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally.
  • May frequently lift and/or move materials within the warehouse.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and varying weather.
