Job Description

As a Product Development Engineer at Laitram, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and developing innovative conveyance solutions that improve lives and optimize businesses worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to understand customer needs and validate new automated equipment assumptions.
  • Design and develop early electromechanical prototypes to test technical limitations and outline business cases in support or opposition of new ideas and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to progress work and utilize resources efficiently, ensuring seamless hand off to product development for timely delivery to the market.
  • Balance cost, quality, and time-to-market to create products that are not only functional but also profitable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience (6+ years) in product development and value engineering.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel 25-50% for domestic and international projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience rapidly prototyping equipment.
  • Preferable experience in Electromechanical equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Creative, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Relentless objectivity.
  • Real examples of cost savings from projects executed.
  • Experience in Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 3D, and or Creo View.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Rockwell and or Siemens platforms.
