POSITION SUMMARY:

The Guest Services Representative plays a crucial role in welcoming, registering, and assisting guests during their stay, contributing to the hotel's goal of delivering outstanding service and ensuring financial success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Warmly greet all guests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Manage guest registration and check-out processes efficiently
  • Handle phone inquiries, transferring calls, and taking messages as needed
  • Facilitate hotel reservations, including modifications and cancellations
  • Adhere to proper credit card handling procedures
  • Maintain accurate cash handling during shifts
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and needs
  • Ensure follow-up on guest inquiries to guarantee satisfaction
  • Possess a thorough understanding of hotel services and amenities
  • Stay informed about local attractions and points of interest
  • Complete necessary paperwork as directed
  • Ensure the front desk is well-stocked with supplies
  • Understand and implement hotel emergency protocols
  • Collect payments during check-in and check-out, making changes as necessary
  • Keep the Front Office and Lobby area clean and organized
  • Adhere to safety and security policies, reporting any incidents
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Protect confidential information and company assets
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure safety and security at the front desk area

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality preferred

Experience:

  • Previous experience in hotel guest services is preferred
  • Training in guest relations is a plus

SKILLS:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate front desk technology
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Excellent verbal communication and guest interaction skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Team-oriented mindset with effective information sharing

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Equipment Used:

  • Computers and various software applications

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to lift items up to 25 lbs.
