POSITION:

BREAKFAST SERVICE ASSOCIATE

REPORTS TO:

FRONT OFFICE MANAGER, ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, GENERAL MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
As a Breakfast Service Associate, your primary responsibilities will include the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the breakfast buffet, along with ensuring the breakfast dining area is well-kept. You will provide outstanding guest service with minimal supervision, greeting guests warmly and ensuring their needs are met at all times. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized breakfast and lobby area throughout your shift.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in similar roles within the hospitality sector is preferred.

JOB ESSENTIALS

  • Welcome guests and provide personalized service.
  • Assist guests with seating, pouring beverages, and cleaning tables.
  • Respond to guest needs and requests promptly.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the menu items and beverage options available.
  • Be familiar with the hotel’s amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Prepare and maintain the dining area in a guest-ready condition.
  • Handle food preparation tasks, including managing fruit and beverage dispensers.
  • Ensure coffee, juice, and milk dispensers are stocked and operational.
  • Continuously replenish breakfast items and present them attractively.
  • Set up cold food items for self-service, including pastries and cereals.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and appliances during the breakfast shift.
  • Clear and clean tables as they become available.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all dining ware before use.
  • Adhere to cleanliness standards throughout the shift, following clean-as-you-go practices.
  • Perform various duties related to the preparation and service of the complimentary breakfast.
  • Manage inventory of breakfast supplies effectively.
  • Wash and store serving equipment after use.
  • Secure refrigerators, restock items, and complete daily cleaning tasks.
  • Take inventory of food and supplies daily.
  • Collaborate with team members on cleaning, food preparation, and storage tasks.
  • Conclude shifts by cleaning and restocking for the next service.
  • Ensure guests receive the highest quality of product and service consistently.
  • Address guest concerns with professionalism and maintain a hospitable demeanor.
  • Follow hotel safety policies and procedures, using safety equipment as necessary.
  • Report any accidents or injuries promptly.
  • Keep work areas free of hazards to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available for varied shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and guests.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety procedures while performing tasks.
  • Regular attendance is crucial for the successful performance of this role.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, along with performing repetitive motions, bending, stretching, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

NOTE: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends.
