Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for Decentralized Pharmacy Services to join our clinical pharmacy team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations of our Georgetown University Hospital's satellite pharmacy locations, including Pediatric, Perioperative, Oncology, and Research Pharmacies.
  • Manage pharmacy operations related to USP, kits, trays, and carts.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities of the Pharmacist I, including distributive, clinical, and research activities.
  • Participate in the development or revision of Pharmacy policy and procedures.
  • Manage personnel, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and terminating employees.
  • Plan, provide, and evaluate orientation, training, continuing education programs, or other opportunities for learning.
  • Monitor and control assigned operational and capital budgets within administrative guidelines.
  • Exemplify Guest and Staff Relations and hold departmental staff accountable for conformity with standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy required.
  • On-the-Job Training or a hospital pharmacy residency program or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-2 years experience as a hospital pharmacist in a progressive clinical environment required.
  • Some supervisory experience required.
  • Current DC license as a Pharmacist required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and related sciences.
  • Knowledge of chemical, biological, and comparative therapeutic properties of a wide range of drugs.
  • Knowledge of management, and Federal/Local laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills; ability to provide direction to others; ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to perform computerized procedures.
Salary Range

$139,276 - $263,744
