Job Title: Diesel Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder in South Boston, MA. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
