As a Temporary/Relief Optometrist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the visual health and well-being of our clients. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prescription information in accordance with Business and Professions Code § 3041 et al.
  • Refer patients for consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and/or surgery to corrections department contract physicians and/or healthcare facilities.
  • Maintain continuity of all work performed from start to finish.
  • Provide Optometry visual services and diagnoses and treatment for specific conditions, including allergies, infectious diseases, and non-systematic inflammations of the conjunctiva.
Requirements:
  • Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution.
  • Current and valid license issued by the State of California, Board of Optometry.
  • Proficiency in the English language and ability to communicate effectively with the corrections department.
