**Job Summary:**

We're seeking a skilled Optometrist to provide examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prescription information to patients in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Optometry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities:**

* Provide Optometry services, including examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prescription information
* Refer patients to contract physicians and/or healthcare facilities as needed
* Maintain continuity of all work performed from start to finish
* Provide Optometry visual services and diagnoses and treatment for specific conditions, including allergies, infectious diseases, and non-systematic inflammations of the conjunctiva

**Requirements:**

* 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein in a public or private institution
* Possess and maintain a current and valid license issued by the State of California, Board of Optometry
* Proficient in the English language and able to communicate effectively with the corrections department
