  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CPA and/or LLM, Masters in Taxation.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of tax-related experience, ideally with a background in a Big 4 firm, including a minimum of 3 years in international tax compliance.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational, analytical, data management, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Motivation: Highly driven with the capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technology skills, particularly in Excel, and the ability to adapt to tax preparation software.
  • Analytical Expertise: Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills, with a focus on tax compliance.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with diverse teams across different locations, fostering relationships with stakeholders in financial and legal sectors.
  • Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with inbound and outbound transactions, foreign tax credit utilization, and strategies for tax minimization.

  • Office setting with exposure to computer screens.
  • Typical noise levels in the work environment are moderate.
  • Required hybrid work schedule, with at least 3 days per week in the office.

The International Tax Lead role is pivotal in overseeing international tax planning and compliance processes. This position entails a hands-on approach to preparing and reviewing tax returns, addressing international aspects of tax provisions, conducting research on tax matters, and supporting transfer pricing compliance and tax planning initiatives. The incumbent will closely collaborate with domestic and foreign tax teams, as well as legal and accounting departments, and engage with business leaders both domestically and internationally.

  • Tax Filings: Prepare and review various U.S. International tax filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 1118, and 1042, along with any necessary attachments.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Oversee ongoing compliance and planning related to various international tax issues, such as Subpart F, Global Intangible Low Taxed Income (GILTI), Foreign Derived Intangible Income (FDII), Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT), and withholding tax, while tracking and utilizing foreign tax credits.
  • Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing compliance and assist with documentation and planning projects.
  • Domestic Returns: Complete and/or review reporting of international issues on domestic 1065 and 1120 returns.
  • Tax Law Changes: Assist in monitoring changes in U.S. and foreign tax laws and developing related compliance procedures.
  • Foreign Compliance: Oversee compliance with foreign tax regulations.
  • Disclosure Statements: Prepare and/or review U.S. tax return disclosure statements and elections concerning international restructurings, acquisitions, tax planning projects, and foreign tax credits.
  • Tax Provision: Assist with U.S. international tax provisions, including the review of foreign tax provisions, calculations of foreign tax inclusion (GILTI, Subpart F, etc.), and credits.
  • Audit Support: Manage and assist with U.S. and non-U.S. tax audit matters.
  • International Operations: Support international operations and monitor their impact on U.S. income taxes, partnering with tax teams in various foreign countries to effectively manage tax risks.
  • Tax Planning Strategies: Assist in developing tax-planning strategies and special projects to identify and mitigate U.S. tax compliance risks.
  • Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues and prepare technical memos and documentation.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Assist with international tax considerations in potential mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and liquidations.
  • Team Development: Support the development of tax staff and maintain communication with tax department leaders, business leaders, and other departments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
