Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our OB Department at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with delivering patient care, including obtaining vital signs, assisting with feeding, toileting, and hygiene care, and performing EKGs and ambulation.
- Schedule diagnostic procedures/tests/appointments and effectively communicate with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to patient call lights and notify appropriate personnel of patient needs.
- Demonstrate service excellence and strive to assist the unit in meeting established goals for patient satisfaction.
- Recognize significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate action.
- Collect data, report information, and perform interventions to improve quality issues.
- Obtain patient information/data and maintain confidentiality.
- Order and enter charges for procedures, supplies, and equipment as applicable.
- Report problems or concerns to the appropriate person or department and assist in resolution whenever possible.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision required.
- Current BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
