About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support for the graduate student experience in the Physics Department at the University of North Texas. This role will be responsible for maintaining student records, assisting with student registration, and working with the Graduate Committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of graduate students, including student alumni records and active grad student email lists.
  • Assist with student registration and provide support for graduate student registration processes.
  • Work closely with the Graduate Committee to coordinate updates to the graduate student handbook and ensure compliance with department and graduate school requirements.
  • Represent the department at local and national recruiting events to promote UNT Physics and recruit graduate students.
  • Perform shared reception duties, including answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and distributing mail.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in recruiting, academic advising, counseling, student services, customer service, or related experience.
  • Strong presentation skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and ability to obtain credit card for travel.
  • Good driving record and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of higher education academic experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex efforts.
