Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as our Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Programmatic Implementation, Division Chief, and Medical Director of the Adult Ambulatory Division in the Department of Psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to build and grow clinical, research, and academic programs of excellence.
  • Foster collaborative relationships between the department, clinical partners, and the community we serve.
  • Oversee the operation and growth of the Department of Psychiatry ambulatory division and clinical services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the Division's clinical organization and implement changes as necessary.
  • Participate in clinical teaching and research as applicable.
Requirements
  • MD/DO or equivalent Medical Degree.
  • Clinical Training in Psychiatry and certification through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Virginia state medical licensure or eligibility.
  • Demonstrated academic and clinical leadership experience in a psychiatry program at a major academic healthcare organization.
  • Proven background in clinical care optimization, quality, safety, and patient engagement.
  • Academic credentials and experience to qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at VCU School of Medicine.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience fostering and leading medical education programming.
  • Demonstrated track record of active participation in multidisciplinary clinical programs focused on patient-centered care.
