Job Description

As a Service Manager at Modern Group Ltd., you will be responsible for leading the Forklift service department, overseeing the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team. Your primary goal will be to ensure the highest level of service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise hourly service technicians and Service Administrator, ensuring the team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • Schedule service work according to priority, maintaining an orderly flow of work and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide quotes and advise internal and external customers on required repairs, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Inspect finished work repair orders for performance to quote, completion to Modern standards, and make recommendations for preventative maintenance and additional repair needs.
  • Perform monthly fieldwork audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Manage equipment condition, inventory, inspections, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor lost and warranty time to standards, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure work orders are accurate and service approved as directed, maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate service technician performance, manage training and development needs, and work with the parts department to establish a van and branch inventory.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and parts for service department inventory, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Coordinate efforts with Parts, Office, Sales, and Management as needed, fostering a collaborative environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for directly managing hourly Road Service technicians and Service Administrator, overseeing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the service department. You will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
