Veterinarian - Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team at the ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH). As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, practical veterinary care to a wide range of outpatients and inpatients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage medical cases, providing skilled and efficient diagnosis and treatment of outpatients and hospitalized animals within hospital medical parameters and budgetary guidelines.
- Perform general procedures, routine and emergency surgery, and high-volume dentistry.
- Provide a high level of customer service to external and internal clients.
- Practice in compliance with Fear Free guidelines.
- Rotate through different services at AAH and the Animal Recovery Center (ARC) to fit operational needs.
- Participate in doctors' meetings and ICU Rounds.
- Mentor and train externs and interns.
- Provide medical information and hospital representation to other departments of the ASPCA, to the public, and potentially to the media.
- Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with NY State veterinary license.
- Veterinary internship or minimum 3 years small animal medicine experience without internship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills and good judgment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, make decisions quickly, and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
