The Hydroblast/Vacuum Technician Level 3 plays a crucial role in executing industrial hydro-blasting and vacuum operations, alongside related labor tasks during outages, shutdowns, turnarounds, and general maintenance activities. This position is vital within advanced manufacturing and power generation sectors across the United States.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Level 3 Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing duties and responsibilities associated with Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians as necessary.
- Assisting the Team Leader in managing and guiding the team effectively and equitably.
- Keeping the Team Leader informed about any personnel adjustments as required.
- Understanding the scope of work for each assigned project.
- Helping the Team Leader coordinate multiple tasks and ensuring team accountability.
- Maintaining a solid understanding of company and client policies.
- Regularly communicating job status and any arising complications to the Team Leader.
- Familiarizing oneself with all team members assigned to the project.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to new team members.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Team Leader in addressing any damaged or missing personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.
- Reviewing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) on-site and contributing to hazard identification and control measures.
- Promptly reporting and rectifying any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader.
- Reporting incidents or injuries immediately to the Team Leader.
- Documenting any on-the-job training (OJT) delivered to field employees.
- Participating in all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing work.
- Adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Operating both manual and automated hydro-blasting equipment effectively.
- Managing the operation of pumping equipment and specialized hydro-blasting tools, including ultra-high-pressure pumps.
- Evaluating cleaned surfaces to ensure they meet customer and facility standards.
- Conducting routine maintenance on customer equipment utilized during operations.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
- Operating and troubleshooting vacuum trucks or vacuum pumps as necessary.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 1500 hours of verifiable hydro-blasting experience.
- A current WJTA certification or completion within 30 days.
- The ability to pass Tech 2 and Tech 3 certification exams with a score of 80% or higher.
