Position Overview

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer with a focus on marine and waterfront infrastructure to bolster our New England Transportation operations. This role is pivotal in the design and execution of significant waterfront projects, including dry docks, bulkheads, seawalls, piers, and ferry terminals.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage engineering teams through the design and construction phases of complex waterfront projects.
  • Conduct engineering assignments that require a thorough understanding of technical codes and standards.
  • Oversee project deliverables, ensuring compliance with Stantec's engineering and design guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges, proposing innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies to ascertain project requirements and secure necessary approvals.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance, utilizing project management tools.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited institution; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in marine and waterfront structures.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in one New England state, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software, including MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools.
  • Experience with federal agency projects related to marine transportation is advantageous.
