Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and report on systems related to warehouse activities, including temperature monitoring for storage units, compliance of material handling equipment, and warehouse management systems, aiming for improved efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with security, safety, and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, particularly those set by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and OSHA.
  • Monitor and analyze warehouse metrics such as case productivity, expense management, and inventory control, identifying trends that require attention and developing performance improvement plans.
  • Assist the Director of Warehouse Operations in identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and operational cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work on optimizing warehouse layouts and floor plans to boost operational efficiency.
  • Engage with the real estate department to ensure new facilities can accommodate projected case volumes and operational demands.
  • Participate in various warehouse projects as assigned by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, distribution, or business; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within the food industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FDA food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and other relevant compliance requirements.
  • Experience in drafting and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Proven ability to provide direction to colleagues and management in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships that foster teamwork on projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, capable of addressing diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems or similar software.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and respond swiftly to time-sensitive issues.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require travel to various distribution centers, with the potential for up to 50% travel.
  • Travel may involve various modes of transportation, including tractor-trailer operations.
  • The position necessitates working in diverse warehouse environments, including areas with varying temperature conditions.
