Job Summary

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our endoscopy department, you will assist physicians and nursing staff in performing endoscopic procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy unit.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff in performing endoscopic procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Provide general patient care activities, such as vital sign monitoring, wound care, and medication administration, to ensure patients receive optimal healthcare.
  • Recognize, obtain, document, and report data to appropriate staff, including patient information, medical history, and test results.
  • Perform patient transport duties, ensuring patients are safely and comfortably transported to and from procedures.
  • Coordinate scheduling and registration of all endoscopic procedures with medical staff, hospital departments, nursing, and physician office staff.
  • Demonstrate technical competence in the cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of endoscopy equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and meets safety standards.
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team, including attending physicians, Registered Nurses (RNs), and ancillary staff, to meet the needs of patients and optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support, and education.
Requirements
  • Passion for patient care and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • 1+ years of nursing assistant experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in endoscopy strongly preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification: Certification in endoscopic procedures required.
  • NYS Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
