We are seeking a skilled Technical Assembler to join our team at SEEK Careers/Staffing, Inc. in Chippewa Falls, WI. As a Technical Assembler, you will be responsible for meticulously assembling small, complex components into sub-assemblies using various hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support precision assembly lines that require specialized skills to meet quality specifications.
- Complete a rigorous training process and obtain certification in the specialty area.
- Ensure that fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance meet design requirements.
- Prepare and utilize fixtures for locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts.
- Combine dexterity and mechanical skills to analyze and interpret assembly requirements.
- Accurately perform detailed and complex assembly tasks, including precise drilling, deburring, and countersinking, often in a repetitive manner.
- Read, interpret, and follow detailed blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions to ensure accurate product assembly.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including clocking in and out of jobs and issuing components/hardware in the ERP system.
- Safely utilize hand and pneumatic tools for assembly tasks, including installing and removing temporary fasteners, countersinking holes, deburring parts, riveting components, and installing and torquing bolts and nuts.
- Report any issues related to quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Lead.
- Implement 6S tools and procedures to maintain an organized and well-kept work area.
- Carefully pack parts for shipping, ensuring no damage occurs during transport.
- Understand inventory locations to efficiently pull and issue parts in the correct quantities for jobs.
- Conduct quality inspections according to the quality documentation and control plan, including documenting results.
- Continuously learn and demonstrate improvements in safety and quality standards and procedures.
- Over 1 year of relevant experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Capable of writing simple correspondence.
- Proficient in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting prints and work orders.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
