Retail Sales Associate, Part Time, Seasonal Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at the Seattle Art Museum. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a thorough knowledge of our products, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in a pleasant and positive manner, utilizing excellent customer service and retail skills.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including sales, returns, and department transfers.
  • Restock sales floor merchandise and supply areas, clean and arrange displays as instructed.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of inventory, the Museum, membership, and shop policies to aid customers with purchasing needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with tagging and flow of merchandise, and participating in the annual physical inventory.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in retail sales.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
  • Ability to use a variety of different cash registers and software programs, including MS Office.
  • Organizational ability with attention to detail, and ability to work accurately and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Working Conditions: Work areas are primarily inside, in a climate-controlled environment with light background noise.

Physical Activities: Stationary work, communication, vision, moving, and office work are required for this position.
