As a Sr Surgical Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Under the guidance of our experienced surgical team, you will assist in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing expert support to our surgeons and nurses.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping
- Maintain a sterile environment, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment and supplies
- Provide expert support to surgeons and nurses during procedures, including handing instruments and supplies
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety
- Participate in room turnover and cleaning to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment
- Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support certification
- Strong experience with minimally invasive, general, and specialty surgeries
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Basic computer skills
- Certification in Surgical Technology
- Experience with video and orthopedic equipment
