Position Overview: Respiratory Therapist at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana
- Delivers comprehensive respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, diagnostic evaluations, and ventilatory support for patients across all age groups.
- Regularly assesses and adjusts Oxygen Therapy and Mechanical ventilation, interprets Arterial Blood Gases and EKG results, and administers periodic treatments.
- Facilitates the modification of artificial airways in accordance with physician directives and established protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree is advantageous)
- Experience: No prior experience necessary
- Certifications: Valid Respiratory Therapist License, National Board of Respiratory Care certification, BLS, ACLS, NRP (for NICU specialists).
Essential Skills
- Proficient in computer operations for data management, Strong communication abilities, Critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Conducts therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, Provides education to patients and colleagues, Maintains necessary certifications, Participates in team meetings.
