Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist at Guthrie, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in our critical care areas. Your expertise in ventilator management, pulmonary function studies, and sterile technique will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, treat, and monitor ventilator cases in critical care areas
Perform respiratory therapy protocols and assessments compliant with respiratory care standards of practice
Review patient records, including admission and current respiratory care, orders, PFT values, ABG results, and respiratory therapy progress notes
Recommend collection of additional pertinent data through chest x-ray, blood gas analysis, and other laboratory reports
Perform maintenance on blood analyzer machine
Educate patients on planned therapies and goals, such as COPD, home care therapies, oxygen therapy, and smoking cessation
Draw ABGs and process them with current equipment and programs
Perform EKGs, Holter monitor set-ups, and home sleep study devices set-ups

Requirements:

Minimum of an A.S. or A.A.S. degree from a CoARC-approved Respiratory program
Licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and hold a current license
Recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
At least one year of intensive and general care as a respiratory therapist
