Job Description

The Lead Direct Support Professional - Behavioral Specialist assists clients with daily living activities, personal care, and program implementation. This role is responsible for ensuring the daily well-being and safety of clients while providing adequate supervision. The Lead DSP also assists with household maintenance, housekeeping, and various tasks to support the home.

Responsibilities
  • Assists clients with daily cares, medical needs, and supports, ADLs, and mental health supports.
  • Develops and implements daily routines that provide opportunities for choice and creativity.
  • Plans and implements recreation, leisure, and community activities that promote socialization and independence.
  • Drives company vehicles to accompany clients to appointments and community activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with clients' families and caregivers.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience working with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass Department of Human Services background checks and maintain qualified status.

Estimated Salary Range

$19.25 per hour + $2.00/hour weekend differential + $1.00/hour overnight differential, plus retention bonuses for full-time staff ($1,500) and part-time staff ($750).
