Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist will provide high-quality patient care and support to our surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team with preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and preparing the operative site.
  • Provide surgical support during procedures, including handling instruments and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the circulating nurse to implement the perioperative plan of care.
  • Identify factors relative to the patient's age and developmental stage that must be considered during the surgical procedure.
  • Prepare the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • Recent hospital experience and/or previous practice experience preferred
  • Surgical Technologist registration required
  • BLS via AHA required
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT preferred
