We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and contribute to the development of innovative machine learning algorithms for autonomous experimental labs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient machine learning algorithms to drive autonomous experimental workflows.
- Collaborate with partner institutions to share developed codes and foster a culture of collaboration.
- Embody ORNL's values and mission by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Requirements:
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in applying machine learning in scientific areas.
- Proficiency in Python programming with verifiable code contributions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with databases and computational workflows.
- Prior exposure to autonomous experimental work.
- Strong communication skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Candidates should have completed their PhD within the last five years and meet all degree requirements before starting the appointment. The initial term is up to 24 months with possible extension, subject to performance and funding availability.
