Team Overview
The Application Management System (AMS) team plays a crucial role in managing the delivery, support, and operational oversight of both production and non-production environments for business applications at Corebridge Financial. Covering various business sectors including Life, Annuities, Institutional Markets, and Group Retirement, the AMS team consists of Agile application engineers who work in close collaboration with Development and Infrastructure teams. Together, they ensure the successful deployment of technology environments and software products from both external vendors and internal development teams across all AMS-supported business functions.
Our team embraces modern Cloud Computing and DevOps principles to efficiently provision and onboard new systems, monitor activities, and provide daily operational reports. We believe that business applications should be highly available, perform optimally, and be managed for operational efficiency.
Role Responsibilities
We are seeking candidates who can:
- Lead and support applications across diverse business functions.
- Exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills across a wide range of application, software, and network-related challenges.
- Bridge the gap between operational and developmental mindsets, particularly in Java and .Net environments.
- Demonstrate a passion for engineering enterprise-grade, production-critical systems while becoming proficient in various technologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and easily recoverable application environments that enhance business processes.
- Advocate for the use of virtualized technologies, Cloud Computing, and SaaS solutions to optimize team efficiency.
- Focus on comprehending requirements clearly, driven by a commitment to excellence and simplicity in design and implementation.
- Implement operational management strategies that leverage automation for business applications.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in leading and supporting various applications across business functions, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results.
- Logical and objective problem-solving approach, adhering to relevant policies and standards.
- Experience managing enterprise-grade Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix environments within a managed service framework, with knowledge of server-side platforms such as Active Directory, SQL Server, Oracle, and others.
- Familiarity with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- Understanding of multiple application architectures (Client-Server, Web, Cloud Native) and the methods to maintain their availability and performance.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and Unix shell scripting, along with software development tools for efficient application support.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Continuous Delivery) to organize work effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
