Position Overview
Biogen is on the lookout for a Senior Clinical Research Scientist to spearhead clinical research initiatives within our immunology programs, particularly focusing on severe immune-mediated disorders affecting kidney function. This role is pivotal in guiding the development, execution, and enhancement of clinical trials, integrating the latest findings on disease mechanisms and innovative treatment options.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation of clinical development strategies, trial protocols, and operational plans that are scientifically sound and comply with regulatory standards.
- Build and nurture professional relationships with clinical investigators and medical experts.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations to ensure effective trial setup, participant recruitment, and study closure.
- Assist in data management by reviewing clinical data and resolving discrepancies.
- Conduct medical monitoring in conjunction with Study Physicians, assessing clinical trial adverse events and laboratory results.
- Partner with Quality Management to guarantee the successful execution of clinical trials.
- Prepare comprehensive clinical study reports and respond to inquiries from Ethics Committees and Health Authorities.
- Support the development of integrated documentation for marketing authorization submissions.
- Present relevant clinical findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and analyze scientific literature and emerging technologies pertinent to assigned projects.
Who You Are
You possess extensive experience in the design and execution of clinical studies for novel therapies. You thrive in dynamic environments and excel in cross-functional collaboration with teams in discovery, development, and commercial sectors.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD/PhD/PharmD) with a minimum of 5 years of clinical research experience, ideally in nephrology or immunology.
- Proven track record in late-stage drug development, particularly in nephrology or immuno-inflammatory conditions.
- Strong ability to interpret scientific literature relevant to ongoing projects.
- Proficient in engaging with health authorities and representing clinical programs with professionalism.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
