Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing the daily operations of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) within the airport environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Compensation: $65,000 - $68,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily functions of the GSE operations.
- Implement and prioritize safety protocols based on established metrics.
- Direct and coordinate the acquisition, operation, and maintenance of ground service equipment and related facilities.
- Serve as a positive influence and role model within the team and broader airport community.
- Collaborate with senior management and various stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to ensure operational efficiency.
Essential Duties:
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability among employees.
- Oversee personnel involved in research and testing of equipment for acquisition, considering factors such as performance and compliance.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair services to maximize equipment utilization and minimize delays.
- Engage with Ground Equipment personnel to assess machinery needs.
- Manage work schedules to optimize resource allocation.
- Assist in creating training materials and conducting training sessions for staff.
- Engage with customers and industry representatives to enhance service offerings.
Supervisory Functions:
Responsible for managing subordinate supervisors within the GSE department, including:
- Recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
- Setting performance expectations and conducting evaluations.
- Addressing employee concerns and resolving issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Reliable transportation and a valid state driver's license.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong mathematical skills for operational calculations.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and online timekeeping systems.
Work Environment:
The role may involve exposure to varying noise levels and outdoor conditions. Personal protective equipment may be required to ensure safety.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Vision and hearing capabilities must meet job demands.
