Job Summary: This role involves executing a range of manual and semi-skilled cleaning tasks essential for the upkeep of the Airport and its shared areas, including terminals, restrooms, lounges, and public zones. The position demands the ability to perform custodial tasks in a bustling and high-demand setting.

Reporting Structure: The position operates under the guidance of the Airport Operations Manager, adhering to established protocols while receiving detailed instructions for new projects and tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not include supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities: The following tasks may not encompass all duties associated with this position, nor do the examples provided cover every responsibility within this classification.

  • Conducts cleaning operations including general sanitation, dusting, polishing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and maintaining floors and carpets.
  • Manages waste disposal, replaces trash liners, and cleans waste receptacles.
  • Utilizes power cleaning machinery such as buffers, sweepers, and steam cleaners.
  • Sanitizes restrooms and fixtures, ensuring supplies are replenished.
  • Performs basic maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and painting.
  • Assists with labor during events.
  • Handles winter maintenance tasks, such as applying ice melt on walkways and snow removal, either manually or with machinery.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service.
  • Participates in relevant meetings, including staff and safety briefings.
  • Keeps accurate cleaning logs and inventory records of tasks performed and time spent.
  • Maintains regular and dependable attendance, with potential for varied shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: At least one year of experience in commercial cleaning.

Language Proficiency: Must effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with the ability to organize and present information clearly. Must comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, with proficient knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to foster cooperative relationships with colleagues, representatives from other organizations, and community members. Strong customer service orientation is essential, along with the capacity to manage interruptions gracefully.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and apply concepts such as fractions and percentages in practical scenarios.

Reasoning Skills: Must apply logical reasoning to solve practical problems, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Technology Skills: Proficient in using modern office technology, including computers and various software applications.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this role include regular communication, prolonged periods of standing or sitting, and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment: The role is performed primarily in the Airport Terminal and associated facilities, with exposure to various environmental conditions and potential hazards.

Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Availability for evening, weekend, and extended hours as needed is required.
