Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medication accurately and promptly under the general supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Recovery Model and mental health environment of care.
  • Record and report patient observations and treatments accurately.
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings and maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment.
  • Prevent injury to self and others by complying with established safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • Full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia.
  • English Language Proficiency: Licensed practical or vocational nurses appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in both spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience as LPN.
  • 1-2 years of experience as LPN in outpatient mental health setting.
  • Working knowledge of psychiatric nursing and mental health clinic workload and flow.
Work Schedule

7:30 am to 4:00 pm
