Position Overview

This role is essential for overseeing and executing the daily care services provided to residents within the licensed Assisted Living program at Regency Retirement Village.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities encompass:
  • Providing appropriate assistance to residents with daily living activities in compliance with Alabama regulations for licensed assisted living facilities.
Qualifications and Skills

This position reports to the Assisted Living Service Coordinator or the Director and collaborates with the Assisted Living service team to implement ongoing health and service programs.

Minimum qualifications include:
  • A valid AL L.P.N. License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, communicating, and writing in English.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, and climbing stairs based on residents' needs.
Organizational Duties

Regularly provides updates to the Assisted Living Director, Nursing Services Director, and other team members.

Ensures that all residents and their families are treated with dignity and respect.

Promotes the SERVICE EXCELLENCE philosophy of Regency Retirement and acts as a resource for the community regarding positive retirement housing and healthcare options.

Care Responsibilities

Resident Care Functions:
  • Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges of residents; communicate changes to staff and families as necessary.
  • Engage daily with residents to assess their physical and emotional well-being; monitor health-related treatments to ensure proper care.
  • Inform physicians of any resident incidents or changes in condition.
  • Assist with daily resident care, including bathing, dressing, meal service, and medication assistance.
  • Receive and transcribe physician's orders as needed.
  • Record admission and monthly weights of residents; report findings to the supervisor.
Medication Management Functions:
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians; verify resident identity to ensure correct medication administration; report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Document administered medications and maintain security of medication storage and delivery systems.
  • Regularly monitor vital signs for residents on hypertensive medications.
Service Program Functions:
  • Ensure residents receive necessary assistance with daily living activities, including medication management, personal care, and mobility support.
  • Supervise staff in conducting assessments and implementing care plans.
Resident Rights Functions:
  • Uphold resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Treat residents with kindness and respect; comply with Resident's Rights regulations and promptly report any complaints to the Assisted Living Director.
Professional Development

Staff Development Functions:
  • Participate in offered in-service training sessions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on essential principles for Assisted Living staff; maintain professional competence and current licenses through ongoing education and training.
