QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educational Background: Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Accreditation: Graduate from a CAPTE accredited institution.
  • Professional Experience: At least one year of post-graduate experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted license or certification as a physical therapy assistant.
  • Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized organizations.
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform necessary tasks.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain productivity levels comparable to peers.
  • Engage in peer evaluations and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during patient care.
  • Effectively manage emergency situations involving patients.
  • Apply legal considerations in all aspects of patient care.
  • Participate in advocacy programs for families.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient rights and needs.
  • Be accountable for professional responsibilities.
  • Commit to ongoing education for career advancement.
  • Complete mandatory annual training sessions.
  • Contribute to performance enhancement and risk management efforts.
  • Provide training sessions for clinic personnel.
  • Attend required meetings as assigned.
  • Document patient interactions accurately and promptly.
  • Utilize automated systems for maintaining patient records.
  • Delegate tasks effectively within the healthcare team.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of treatment plans.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement exercise and treatment protocols as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Conduct therapeutic activities such as exercise and gait training under supervision.
  • Monitor and assess patient reactions to therapeutic interventions.
  • Assist in fitting patients with orthopedic supports and devices.
  • Collaborate with the therapy team and other healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Services are provided Monday through Friday during standard business hours.
  • Scheduled for 80 hours of work bi-weekly.
  • No work exceeding 80 hours within a two-week timeframe.
  • Not required to work on federal holidays.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Must excel in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities. A collaborative team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances is essential.
