Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Review medical histories, collaborate with healthcare colleagues, and understand patient needs to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Establish specific goals for rehabilitation or recovery, and design customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Provide Hands-On Care: Use joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and manual stretching techniques to enhance mobility and relieve pain.
  • Apply Modalities: Utilize ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold therapy to ease pain, reduce inflammation, and aid tissue healing.
  • Guide Patients: Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and injury prevention related to body mechanics and ergonomics.
  • Develop Pain Management Strategies: Implement therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques to reduce pain and improve patient outcomes.
  • Enhance Patient Independence: Assist patients in regaining independence after surgery, injury, or illness to enhance their quality of life.
  • Document Patient Progress: Continuously assess and document patient progress toward rehabilitation goals, adapting treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care and ensure seamless communication.
  • Provide Ongoing Support: Offer personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Adhere to Ethical and Legal Standards: Respect patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in patient care.
Requirements
  • Valid Physical Therapy State License: Possess a valid and active Physical Therapy State license.
  • CPR and BLS Certification: Hold CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (with AED).
