We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Element Resources. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance activities and workflow planning of our plant maintenance projects and personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct hourly maintenance employees, as well as union and non-union contractors, to ensure the completion of environmental, facility, and process improvement projects.
- Develop and implement daily routine checklists to ensure efficient and organized project completion.
- Schedule and provide direction to hourly and contract personnel to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Manage hourly maintenance staff attendance and payroll activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors to plan and implement project activities involving internal maintenance, ensuring seamless integration with other departments.
- Work with the Lean Department to develop and implement Kaizen events, driving continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
- Manage the Preventive Maintenance (PDM), Predictive Maintenance (PM), and breakdown repairs of plant process and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Be available for calls 24 hours a day, may work off shifts, and weekends, to ensure prompt response to maintenance-related issues.
- Complete work order documentation and manage work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Assist in the development of detailed outage plans to minimize disruption to production and ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure maintenance employees follow all applicable safety policies, including Blood Lead Reduction, lockout, mobile equipment, NFPA 70E, crane/rigging, and other relevant safety protocols.
- Audit daily maintenance activities, including completion and usage of Safe Work, Hot Work, and other safety-related work permits, to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Minimum of two years of technical degree or equivalent in experience.
- Demonstrate 4 years of experience working in a progressive maintenance organization with prior supervisory experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, FMEA's, RCFA's, and autonomous maintenance.
- Capable of operating CMMS software programs, experience with MP2 a plus.
- Able to read and understand technical information and create maintenance activities to service equipment.
- AutoCAD experience a plus and must be able to use Drawing View.
- Proficient with MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word).
- Experience with Toyota Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma Certification a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate in response to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read industrial drawings.
- While performing the duties of this job, the maintenance supervisor will be provided all of the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for working in an environment where exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme heat and humidity will occur.
- 35% of the work day will be in an office setting.
- 65% of the work day will be in the operating areas of the facility.
- Noise levels in areas of the manufacturing facility may be above 85db.
- Full face respirators are required inside the manufacturing facility.
- Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb with minimal effort.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
