Position Overview:

ECS Limited is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to become part of our dynamic team.

As a new member, you will be mentored by seasoned professionals, gaining the skills necessary to safely execute a variety of essential tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations:

Carry out observations, testing, and sampling of materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete at construction project sites; Perform tasks according to project specifications under the supervision of experienced technicians and project managers.


Testing Methodologies:

Execute routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various techniques and equipment in compliance with industry standards.


Data Management:

Conduct calculations and data analysis based on sampling and test outcomes; May assist with drafting and other administrative tasks as needed.


Communication Skills:

Maintain regular communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; Report changes in site conditions and additional testing requirements to supervisors; Participate in project meetings as necessary; Help organize field equipment and report any damaged or missing items.


Training and Growth:

Receive training in ECS methodologies for project observations, inspections, and testing; Accurately document findings in line with accepted engineering practices.

Qualifications:

No prior experience is necessary.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.

Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance.

Willingness to learn about heavy construction safety practices and procedures.


Desire to acquire knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.

OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Strong communication abilities (speaking, reading, and writing).

Capability to collaborate effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
