Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group USA. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen, including supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Develop and implement new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.

Requirements:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Ability to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
