Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist PRN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment.
  • Help position and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Assist with exposure and handling of tissue during procedures, applying surgical dressings and stack drain reservoirs as needed.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of a course in OR technology.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
