Cook Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our laboratory and general office areas.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all offices, laboratories, and general building areas, including daily trash and recycling removal, wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and vacuuming of carpeted areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all bathrooms and break room areas, including wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and restocking of supplies.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of all custodial supplies, including requesting procurement of supplies and using company vehicles to pick up supplies or transfer between facilities.
- Don supplied articles of clothing to clean restricted laboratory areas, including shirt, pants, safety shoes, lab coat, hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, and gloves if applicable.
- Ability to work at elevated heights on a ladder or other lift equipment.
- Exemplify Cook Group's Core Values, including maintaining regular and punctual attendance, adhering to company quality and safety standards, and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other general office equipment.
- Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in cleaning in a general office setting.
- 3+ years experience leading custodial efforts in a laboratory or hospital setting.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended work hours.
- Ability to spend majority of day standing in warehouse setting for extended periods of time.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, reaching, twisting, and bending on occasion with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
This position requires working in a laboratory and general office setting with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants while in BioSafety Level II. The ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication is required. The employee must be able to work under specific time constraints and spend majority of day standing in warehouse setting for extended periods of time.
