**Job Title:** Medical Staff Associate/Practical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Samuel Contract Staffing in Jackson, MS. As a Medical Staff Associate/Practical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of plasma donors while delivering exceptional patient care.

**Estimated Salary:** $26.50 per hour plus monthly bonuses, totaling approximately $55,000 per year based on a 40-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer system.
  • Conduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks.
  • Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment.
  • Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, including medical history interviews, physical examinations, educating donors on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary.
  • Provide counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results.
  • Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding post-donation information.
  • Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, including communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities.
  • Learn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company Procedures.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret directions and instructions.
  • Perform basic math calculations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reasoning ability to identify, interpret, and apply appropriate information.
