About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Control Specialist to join our team at Vanderlande Industries B.V. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our baggage handling systems, requiring strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time position that requires working 24/7 in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining system status, balancing, statistical reports, and chute assignments for user airlines
  • Communicating effectively with airport personnel, including operations, management, TSA, and airlines
  • Coordinating configuration changes to bypass off-service conveyor and implementing backup/fallback procedures as needed
  • Ensuring smooth daily start-ups by reviewing checklists and procedures
  • Determining sequence and approach with minimal assistance and carrying out various control room activities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma and computer experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn and grow into maintaining material handling systems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility with time and ability to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and requires total concentration at all times. Night, weekend, and rotating shifts are common. You must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This job is primarily sedentary.
