Job Description

Role Overview

The Assistant Principal will play a key role in the management of the school's education program, ensuring the effective development, provision, and evaluation of educational services. This position will report directly to the Principal and will be responsible for the management of significant areas or functions within the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of senior curriculum or level coordinators to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs.
  • Allocate budgets, positions of responsibility, and other resources within the area of responsibility to optimize educational outcomes.
  • Supervise the delivery of teaching programs to ensure alignment with school policies and educational frameworks.
  • Manage programs to improve the knowledge and experience of staff, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Take responsibility for general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers and year level coordinators.
  • Contribute to the overall management of the school, participating in policy formulation and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be appropriately qualified individuals currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to analyze complex educational issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
