Job Details
  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct financial planning.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the food manufacturing industry and a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • The Controller will oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards and regulatory requirements.
  • The role will also involve managing the month-end closing process, preparing financial statements and reports, and maintaining internal control safeguards.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong analytical skillset, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and maintain high levels of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the month-end closing process and prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics, focusing on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business results.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
  • Implement and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end processes, and KPI metrics.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to non-financial managers.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail—ability to analyze large amounts of data and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
