Job Details- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct financial planning.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the food manufacturing industry and a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
- The Controller will oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards and regulatory requirements.
- The role will also involve managing the month-end closing process, preparing financial statements and reports, and maintaining internal control safeguards.
- The successful candidate will have a strong analytical skillset, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the month-end closing process and prepare financial statements and reports.
- Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics, focusing on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business results.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
- Implement and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
- Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end processes, and KPI metrics.
- Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to non-financial managers.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail—ability to analyze large amounts of data and maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
