Position Summary
RMC is seeking a Tier 3 - Forensic Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to perform comprehensive analyses of digital evidence, aiding in the resolution of computer security incidents and enhancing system/network vulnerability mitigation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of digital evidence to support computer security incidents, extracting valuable insights for system/network vulnerability mitigation.
  • Assist in incident investigations utilizing advanced techniques in Surface Analysis, Runtime Analysis, and Static Analysis of suspected malware.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative detection capabilities by integrating findings from malware and forensic analyses into new and existing detection use cases, aimed at preventing future incidents.
  • Analyze malware to ascertain its functionalities, intentions, indicators, and origins.
  • Validate existing knowledge regarding intrusions while uncovering new information through industry-standard malware and digital forensic analysis methodologies.
  • Examine recovered data for pertinent information relevant to ongoing investigations.
  • Employ forensically sound procedures, including evidence duplication, to maintain the integrity of original evidence.
  • Process various media types, including hard drives, compact disks, solid-state drives, mobile devices, GPS units, and tape formats.
  • Maintain specialized cyber defense software and hardware.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to ensure accurate dissemination of investigative findings and cyber defense information.
  • Provide a technical summary of findings in alignment with established reporting protocols.
  • Support Incident Response tasks as required.
  • Demonstrate proficiency by effectively analyzing files and artifacts related to Red Team activities.
  • Offer necessary support to uphold the customer's Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) accreditation in accordance with standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with seven years of experience in computer programming.
  • Must possess a current valid IAT Level III certification and maintain compliance with IAT Level III certification requirements.
  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position, with eligibility for access to classified information.
  • This role is essential and requires reporting during adverse weather conditions, power outages, fuel shortages, pandemics, and other emergencies.
