Power Electronics Test Engineer

We are seeking a skilled individual with expertise in control systems testing and high voltage electrical components, including IGBT, batteries, and inverter controllers such as TMC and ALC.
Position Overview:
Experience Required: 3 to 6 years
The ideal candidate will serve as a Test Engineer for Battery Electric Locomotive components and drive control systems. A strong understanding of power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, diodes, contactors, capacitors, and motor controls, is essential.
The successful engineer will possess solid fundamentals in electrical systems and controls, enabling them to effectively test and contribute to our projects. The role involves troubleshooting issues collaboratively, conducting root cause analysis, and developing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehend traction inverters and their interfaces with battery management systems and locomotive controllers to ensure effective testing, verification, and validation of drive systems.
- Familiarity with IGBTs, contactors, capacitors, reactors, and relays, including EQT and FQT testing of components.
- Proficient in C controls programming and Matlab modeling for the verification and validation of TMC and ALC control strategies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, capacitors, reactors, and relays.
- Proficiency in C programming.
- Experience with Matlab models and control systems.
