Job Summary
Kiewit is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Lenexa, KS. As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing and leading estimating teams to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates for large industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead estimating teams to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates for large industrial projects.
- Read and interpret contract requirements and specifications to identify unique or extraordinary items and address technical challenges or inconsistencies during bid preparation.
- Build project knowledge and expertise in electrical and instrumentation controls systems design and construction.
- Coordinate with design teams to influence lowest cost of construction through facilitation of cross-discipline communication.
- Train and mentor other estimators to develop their skills and expertise.
- Stay current on industry trends and developments, including new equipment, means and methods, and procedures.
- Communicate with senior managers on a regular basis to ensure everyone is on the same page for reviews and eliminate late changes.
- Schedule and prepare estimate reviews and conduct detailed formal reviews of all engineered equipment, subcontract, and permanent material pricing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating or construction leadership roles, with expertise in electrical or instrumentation controls systems design and construction.
- Leadership experience and interest in growing career to lead other estimating teams.
- Diverse project experience in engineering and construction, including Pre-Feed, FEED, D/B, or EPC projects.
- Experience with estimating software, such as Hard Dollar or similar software.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to lead, train, and facilitate teams.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
