Assistant Underwriter - Cyber and Technology

AXA XL Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our Cyber and Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting, managing, and servicing a cyber and technology renewal book, as well as producing new business in accordance with business unit goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite, manage, and service a cyber and technology renewal book
  • Produce new business in accordance with business unit goals
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk
  • Negotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives
  • Maintain expertise with the products, services, priorities, and target markets to more effectively enable clients to uncover hidden cyber risks
  • Promote the company's expertise by participating in industry conferences and events while regularly conducting and taking leadership roles in client and broker meetings to educate on evolving cyber risk
  • Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements
Requirements:
  • Some underwriting or underwriting support experience, preferably within the Cyber and Technology insurance space
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations
  • Outstanding collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to demonstrate critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to travel a minimum of 10% of the time is anticipated
  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Continuing education or professional designations in insurance underwriting and information privacy, including Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Certified Information Privacy Professional, and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), are preferred but not required
